Unless we find other intelligent species in the universe, we may be unique in our ability to deeply appreciate the amazing universe and planet that has produced us. That awareness might be what we bring to the table, as it were, different from all other life...locally at least.

Certainly being amazed and occasionally awed is more than enough to keep me going.
